The first parents, Adam and Eve, did not have a Bible, a self-help book nor the Ten Commandments to help raise godly boys. Had those been available their sons, Cain and Abel might have learned that anything they did that did not please God was a sin.

When Cain became jealous of Abel, he killed him. Not good. One of the Ten Commandments teaches “Thou shall not kill.” We need to ingrain in our children’s hearts all of God’s commandments. We cannot expect our children to keep God’s commandments if they do not know them.

Parents and children alike need to learn and apply God’s Word in their lives. We need to learn right from wrong and choose to please our Heavenly Father.
