After teaching children godly behavior, pray they will choose to walk a godly walk. They will always have Satan trying to pull them away from God and toward sin. Encourage them to choose to follow the ways of their Heavenly Father, not Satan. At any point in time, they can pray and invite the Lord to live in their heart.
The Bible says to “Train up a child in the ways he should go, and when he is old he will not turn from it.” (Proverbs 22:6)
We can teach children God’s ways; but, they don’t always follow our teachings. When this happens, sit down and explain the importance of following God. Often a serious visit with your child, like my visit with the boy on the school grounds, will redirect their lives. Discipline may or may not become necessary.
Never overlook misbehaviors and when necessary, it is wise to discipline.
